Bathrooms… timeless & classic
This is one room where you can’t go wrong with neutral and timeless.
There are still plenty of ways to modernize a room while keeping it classic. Clean lines and a design that never goes out of style- that’s the way to get your money’s worth, and create wide appeal for resale.
Project #1 – Jack-&-Jill Bathroom
This was a Jack-&-Jill bath. It was white on white on white, builder grade 4″ x 4″ tile in the tub room, cultured marble complete with seashell sinks- and carpet in the vanity rooms!
I kept the vanities and gave them a fresh coat of paint and new hardware. I reused the toilet, tub (just got it refinished) and mirrors that came with the house, along with the faucets and light fixtures I had put in earlier. New tile floor throughout, marble counters with under mounted sinks and beautiful glass and marble mosaic tile in the tub. No more builder grade here.
Project #2 – En suite bathroom
This was an en suite bathroom, again with white on white on white builder grade everything. I chose a silver marble tile in different sizes to put throughout the space (rectangle on the floor, square in the tub and mosaic as an accent band). I reused the toiled, refinished the tub and replaced the vanity, faucets, light fixture and mirror. Here I did use cultured marble for the counter, in bright white. Anything with a pattern would’ve competed with the marble tile. Solid bright white (no swirls in this counter) pulled out the white veining in the tile, helped brighten up the space (along with light gray paint) and was cost effective.
Project #3 – Downstairs bathroom
This was a downstairs bathroom. You know the story- builder grade. I replaced the vanity with one that matched the en suite upstairs for some consistency, painted, added a new light fixture and faucet along with a granite counter, under mounted sink and new tile floor. I spray painted the existing mirror nickel and changed out the towel racks to nickel. This granite was Blue Pearl. In small rooms like this that aren’t open to other areas, you can choose different colors for a change without it affecting your other spaces.
Project #4 – Main floor half-bathroom
This was a half bath on the main floor. It’s a smaller project with bigger impact, because it is a space that will be seen and used by guests. Everything in this room was changed! The blue walls were painted a light gray. The almond colored toilet and pedestal sink were changed out with an espresso vanity cabinet with marble top and white toilet. New faucet, new mirror, new white blinds and a couple of paintings completely change the space. Now, it’s not only more functional (with usable counter space) but updated, yet looks timeless.
Let’s Do This!
Home is the most important place for everyone. It’s where your family memories are made. It’s your reprieve from the outside world. It’s your biggest investment. I’ve been doing this for a long time. Now, it’s time to take what I’m most passionate about to the next level and make an impact on a greater scale. This doesn’t feel like work to me. I love every minute of it. For me, there is no greater feeling than seeing the joy on people’s faces when I can help them create a home they truly love and change their lives in a positive way.
I would love the opportunity to create that for you.
