Meet Andrea

My Background

I’ve been a pharmacist for over 25 years. Not what you were expecting to read on a decorating website, was it?! Even though I’ve been practicing in another field, I’ve always had an artistic side and love of design. In high school, I took drawing, interior decorating and drafting classes. I’ve always loved architecture, unique floorplans and walking through houses in every stage of construction.

As I became a homeowner, the decorating bug really kicked in. What started out as learning how to paint a room or find the right accent pieces morphed into remodeling kitchens and bathrooms and changing every room in the house! I’ve even decorated and helped design and build pharmacies at the hospitals where I’ve worked. I contributed to the layout and workflow and chose all the colors, finishes and decor. I wanted my pharmacies to not only be functional, but comfortable- not sterile and uninviting. (Trust me, they weren’t boring beige!)

For a couple decades now, I’ve helped friends/family/neighbors with projects- whether it’s choosing the right color, working with what they’ve already chosen and helping them complete the room, or giving them ideas on how to remodel, reconfigure or add on to a space. That is in addition to the projects I’ve done in my own homes. I know what it’s like to be the one dealing with the contractor, living in a construction zone for months- and to have to pay for it. It’s not always an easy process (oh, I have stories), but with the right person to guide you, it’s totally worth it in the end.

My Style
I like to call my design style Modern Traditional. I love things with metal, stone and a little bling, but balanced with warm tones, wood, texture and ornate details. And, most importantly… comfort. Your house is not a museum; you need to be able to live in it. It is possible to create something beautiful and livable at the same time, in addition to being conscious of resale value as well. I can help you create something you love but that will also increase your home’s value and appeal to future buyers should you eventually sell.
How I Approach a Project
You don’t have to spend a ton of money or do a major renovation to make a major change in your home. Just knowing the right things to do or getting creative can have a huge impact without a huge price tag.

Some people know what they want but just don’t know how to change what they have into that image. Some people don’t know what they want; they just know they don’t like what they have.

I think this is where my background is a perfect fit. I have the artistic ability to see what a room can be and then make it beautiful; but the pharmacist in me is the analytical balance. Some of my biggest strengths are in budgeting, multi-tasking and communicating. One of the most important aspects of being a good pharmacist is being able to talk to your patients and explain things in a way they understand. It’s the same with design. If people don’t understand it, they won’t do it. My job is to create the image you want, make sure you can see it and then bring it to life.

No matter the scope of the project, I’ll work to stretch the budget as far as I can to give you a result you’ll both love and can afford.

Home is the most important place for everyone. It’s where your family memories are made. It’s your reprieve from the outside world. It’s your biggest investment. I’ve been doing this for a long time. Now, it’s time to take what I’m most passionate about to the next level and make an impact on a greater scale. This doesn’t feel like work to me. I love every minute of it. For me, there is no greater feeling than seeing the joy on people’s faces when I can help them create a home they truly love and change their lives in a positive way.
